Now days, we are all in a hurry to get where we need to go and we have turned away from calling cabs to cheaper alternatives such as the ever famous, Uber. Now Uber has created a side project to add even more convenience to their already convenient transportation business, Uber Eats and if you pay attention to the news, then you’ve heard of the many Uber Lawsuits that have been filed against Uber including Fair Labor Laws. All those lawsuits have now spilled into their new Uber Eats program.
Recently an Uber driver in Tampa, Florida has started a lawsuit indicating that Uber Eats drivers suffer from “negative tax implications.” The lawsuits also claims that
drivers are deprived of benefits such as minimum wage, workers compensation, disability insurance, unemployment insurance and social security.
At the moment it is unclear whether this particular lawsuit will be granted class action status but could include over 1,000 persons. It is also unknown at the moment if Florida judges will allow the plaintiff’s attorneys to being looking for more delivery drivers. What is clear is that Uber has a long way to go with their legal issues regarding labor laws.
